Alrighty, on to what has been going on here at the Reel household.
*We have landscaped.
*We have been putting up bird feeders and more bird feeders for my little nature lover. And a bird bath that I was conned into. Not the fountain kind. I'm too cheap for one of those. It'll have to be a gift from my hubby to me/us some day.
*We have been going to softball games for my littlest tater tot ~ who isn't so little anymore.
*Doctoring my hubby because he was attacked. He was attacked by a vicious softball that deflected off of the first base plate at just the right angle. It attacked his lip. Actually he should probably have had stitches, but again, that cha-ching sound echoed in his ear and he opted for natural healing. We have a friend that is an ER doctor and I bet he would have stitched him up for free. On his picnic table outside. He's healing just fine, thanks.
*We have been getting epic haircuts! I mean, monumental. You wouldn't think a haircut would be all that, but it is sooo all that. And more. Pictures to come.
*I've been enjoying watching others have road rage. So what if it is against me. I laughed. It's what I do. Sorry. I think.
*Overdosing on laundry. That is 100% truth too! I think I did 7, 985 loads in one day. And I still have the comforters to do. Send help immediately. Help could be in the form of a Starbucks or Chipotle. I take all kinds of
*There has been a war on the ant invasion that is going on in my home. So far, I'm winning. They had the upper hand for a while, but the momma smack down occurred.
*We woke up the other day and we thought our car had been vandalized in the night. It was a yellow color. Normally it is black. The culprit? Pollen. Nice for the asthmatics in the family.
*Pulled a very late nighter with my oldest girl. We watched the movie North and South. Love it. Get it and watch it now. The one drawback - it is a four hour show. I cry at the end. Every. Time. It's not like I don't know what is coming. It is just so sweet and touching... My favorite is when the kids look at me when they know it's coming and they just stare. WAITING. Then I blow my nose on their shirt. Not really, but they do stare and watch me cry. Not sob. Just a tear or two. Don't get me started on what happens when Charlotte dies in Charlotte's Web. Homeschooling is usually done for the day when that book is being read out loud and we get to that part. I think it is all a plan on my kids' part. "Let's get mom to read Charlotte's Web and we'll be done with school for the day... She'll be crying before you know it!!"
One last even we celebrated was the end of Awana for the little kids. We weren't celebrating because we were done, per say. We were celebrating because they accomplished so much and they were excited to get their awards. But just in case, they provided this for you:
I think there are layers of jokes here. I'm still laughing over this one. Even though I totally get that it is for moms to take babies out of the service if it gets too loud.
Our friends go to a small town, country church, and this year they started an AWANA club. Of course their daughter called Chloe and asked if she wanted to join in the fun. As per Chloe's need for social interaction, she promptly jumped on that and said YES!
They had a workbook they did activities out of and there were bible verses to memorize. There were game times and snack times. It was a great experience for all and the culmination was a celebration program.
We just really appreciate the ladies and men that took time out of their busy schedules to encourage our kids and give them great memories.
And here we have Mr. I Love To Have My Picture Taken Reel. It is my mission to catch him in a smile.
Have a lovely weekend,
Tammy
