Through the eye...

I think I may have alluded to the fact that a camera in the hands of a teenager can be an eye opening experience.  To look behind the eye of a teen can be fun.  Or scary.  Or, dare I say, breath taking.

Sophie told me that all she wants for her 15th birthday is Photoshop.  That's ALL...  Not sure how many of you have priced it lately, but it goes for somewhere between $500-600 for the program.  Ouch.  So until we decide to pony up for that piece of equipment (or sell one of the kids internal, non essential organs to pay for it), Soph has been hanging around the Picnik website.  She will spend lots of time enhancing photo's, making collages, making pictures funny!

So while we were vacationing she and Mak would disappear into the deep recesses of the island and snap away.  This is a sampling of what they walked away with:

Every good picture has a few good hearts sprinkled in here and there.  It's what girls do ~ no matter how old you are.  Picture quotes courtesy of Mak:

Sophie has taken some pretty good eye shots, if I say so myself.  I don't know why, but those are my favorite kinds of shots:

Sophie has several friends that are the jelly to her life ~ she's the peanut butter!  Mak is one of them, and unfortunately for Sophie, she lives out of state.  Fortunately, she was going to be at our house before we planned our vacation, so when we did decide to go, she was in!

Here are the last of the Picniked pictures:

So there it is.  Some of the things that go on behind your kids eyeballs.  I highly recommend giving a camera to a kid and sending them out.  See what they come back with.  See what they think is pretty, or interesting, or funny.  I know that I have enjoyed it.  Now if I can just find the camera when I need it!

Have a great hump day!
